Number 1: Pax Massilia
A group of police officers use special methods to track down a dangerous criminal in order to prevent bloodshed in Marseille.
AlloCiné Viewer Rating: 3.4/5
According to Lia (5/5):
“A great French police action series. This is 100% Marchal and I love it! A great cast with “faces” and very charismatic actors, all playing their roles well. From the first episode we are thrown right into the mix and the episodes follow each other because it is so addictive. Violent, raw and very enjoyable to watch! The best!“
According to Jean N (3/5):
“Finally we’ll say good Olivier Marshall with faces (always the same….) fighting and thugs in BAC NORD!!“
According to Laurent Gay (2.5/5)
“The series is in the same register as the film Bac Nord. The big difference is that in Buck Nord there were real dialogues in the police team, it was primarily a story of brotherhood. In this series, the police talk to each other like robots. That being said, this series is super violent, isn’t it restrained, buzzing in violence? Sure, it’s rhythmic, but with a very ordinary script, nothing special about it, the cops are superheroes, the bad guys are super bosses, we’re very far from cult series like Engrenages or Braquo.“
why does it work
With his ex-cop hat on, Olivier Marshall knows the recipe for a tense, muscular and spectacular thriller. He’s reprising it with Pax Massilia, his new series and the first he’s signed to Netflix. Setting its story in the northern districts of Marseille, it guarantees the audience a sensational experience with colorful characters. In the casting, he takes well-known faces from the big and small screen (Nicolas Duvachel, Tewfik Jellab, Samir Boitar) and are already well-identified in the thriller genre.
Number 2: My Life with the Walter Boys

After losing her family in an accident, 15-year-old Jackie Howard, a young girl from Manhattan, must adjust to a new life in Colorado with her guardian – and 10 very rowdy boys.
AlloCiné Viewer Rating: 3.6/5
According to Philippine B (5/5):
“I loved this series, it’s really light, atypical and full of love. I highly recommend it.”
According to Chantal Brockin (5/5):
“I liked it, but I’m still a long way from being a teenager. The sets are great. The cast, the director Jason Priestley (Brandon of Beverly Hills) is great. I was happy to find Sarah Rafferty (who played the secretary in Suits on Netflix). I can’t wait to see season 2. “
According to Lily (1/5):
“Not believable at all! I quickly gave up because just a few months after losing my entire family, here is this new and jaded teenager going about her life like everyone else with normal worries!”
why does it work
Did you like The Summer I Became Pretty and Virgin River? So this new hit series is made for you! Adapted from the bestselling novel, My Life with the Walter Boys combines all the ingredients of a romantic teen series with a familiar plot: a young woman whose heart is torn between two brothers.
But apart from her love life, she has to go through adolescence in an unfamiliar environment after the death of her parents and sister. Lots of obstacles and twists and turns for this new hero of this romantic serial that has won over subscribers.
Number 3: Fully charged

A group of elite special forces take control of a terrorist network planning an attack in Las Vegas. After a celebratory and boozy party at the end of the mission, the team discovers that the bomb they deactivated was a decoy…
AlloCiné Viewer Rating: 3.3/5
According to Laurent B (4/5):
“Action comedy series. Crazy and very entertaining, we are not bored at all, the scenes are so fun and funny that we ask for more. The actors Shelley Hennig, Nick Zano and Terrence Terrell are great. We hope for a season 2.”
According to U cemu F.:
A special mission version of ‘Very Bad Trip’, turn off your brain and let it take you away. You feel good in this short time”
According to Lionel33000 (3.5/5):
“A new action and comedy series from Netflix, a group of agents tries to stop a bomb in Las Vegas and it does its job. Action scenes, dark humor, sex and music is a parody of all action series with Netflix. – Let’s find out the censorship, whether we like it or not…”
why does it work
This very bad road trip, which sees its characters (either a drug addict or an alcoholic) criss-cross Las Vegas to find a nuclear bomb, is as crazy as it sounds. Banned for under 18s due to nudity, Chargés à bloc is a comedy that knows who it’s aimed at: if you like schoolboy/crude humor (your choice), silly but entertaining scenes at will and not-so-good characters, then. This is for you. Subscribers took the bait in any case.
Number 4: 39-45: Mankind at War

Through recycled archival footage and testimonies from all forces involved, this documentary series shows World War II as we’ve never seen it before.
AlloCiné Viewer Rating: 3.2/5
According to Arthur Grossdemange (2.5 out of 5):
“Good series, although once again, for example, the Battle of Dunkirk only features English infantry facing the Germans, with no mention of French soldiers (the Franco/German war is only 5 minutes long!)”
@netflix has released a new documentary, Humanity at War, which is a total look at World War II. Incredible photo restoration and coloring! 🤩#Netflix #Second World War #from the frontlines pic.twitter.com/IUYXNrwNmk

39-45: Humanity at War These World War II documentaries are always fascinating #Netflix
— 🍏 compote 🍎 (@LaBelleCompote) December 7, 2023
why does it work
A story in six episodes of the Second World War, which evokes the point of view of the different camps involved in the conflict. Narrated by John Boyega in the original version, the series benefits from the restoration of his archive footage to absolutely stunning results.
This documentary series, rich in entertainment and information, will not leave anyone indifferent!
Number 5: An almost normal family

The Sandels are a very ordinary family: Adam is a priest, Ulrika is a lawyer, and their daughter Stella is 19 years old. They live perfectly in the residential suburb of Lund. But one day everything changes when Stella is accused of murder and thrown into prison. Bewildered parents don’t know what to do. What happened ? They want to help Stella at any cost, but deep down what do they know about their daughter? and each other?
AlloCiné Viewer Rating: 3.5/5
According to patosud26 (4.5/5):
“We know the success of Swedish thrillers and their efficiency, and this ultra-fast series is the same. I’m a real weather bike when I’m looking for a culprit. Finally, the pieces of the puzzle fall into place, until the final verdict is true, but still excellent.
The actors are all very believable in their roles, especially the two female actors who play the young Stella and Ulrika, her mother. I’ve said it before, but I like the fact that Netflix allows you to find series in addition to American and English. Nice piece.”
According to Harry6489 (4/5):
“A pastor, a lawyer, a blue flower girl, a sex predator and a murderer… these are the ingredients of this Swedish mini-series, well, not bad at all.” I really enjoyed the complexity and mix of characters. different personalities.
Good plot and original story. 6 episodes can be watched for our utmost enjoyment. In general, I think that Scandinavian series are quite well done, and it is true in this case as well.
According to Charlotte28 (2/5):
“Limited to six episodes, this police investigation series evolves from the rape community in a very clumsy way to denounce a very poorly painted psychological portrait of a man.”
While the narrative construction is interesting, the twists and turns as well as the involvement of the parents are not believable despite the believable cast. On the subject of a watchable but accused child of murder, watch the excellent defense attorney Jacob.
why does it work
A few weeks after its release on Netflix, Almost Normal Family is still among the best views on the platform. This Swedish mini-series, which combines thriller, romance and family drama, completely stopped the subscribers thanks to the newsworthy plot, the many twists and turns of the talented lead actress Alexandra Karlsson Tyfors. A nice anticipated success for Netflix and this exciting series.
