Disney+ and Star+ will be one from 2024; understand

From 2024, Disney+ and Star+, Disney’s streaming services, will be one in Latin America. According to the Walt Disney Company, which confirmed the deal, the merger is expected to take place in the second quarter of next year.

This integration will enable the unrivaled power of our content to be made available in a single application, providing an improved and superior experience, as well as simplified access to subscribers, who are always at the heart of our strategies.

Diego Lerner, President of the Walt Disney Company Latin America.

Launched in 2021, Star+ arrived as a sibling to Disney+ to offer more entertainment for adults, separating sports content and series not suitable for children in one place.

With the union of the two services, subscribers will be able to find all the content collected in a single streaming application instead of several: it is believed that Hulu content will also be available on the same platform (perhaps in different menus).

Moving strategically to gain more space in the competitive streaming market, Disney CEO Bob Iger also recently confirmed conversations with Netflix to re-license content to its rival.

The companies have been partners for five years. The deal was finalized in 2017, when Disney launched its own platform. See more here!
