A security camera captured the moment when a Porsche 911 Carrera, worth around R$800,000, overturned in Avenida Barão Homem de Melo, in Belo Horizonte, Minas Gerais, in the early hours of this Monday 11th. The images are strong.
According to the police, at the time of the accident the vehicle was traveling at a speed of over 200 km/h. The driver of the car was charged by the Civil Police with manslaughter after being arrested in the act.
In a press conference last Monday, the 11th, the delegate Marcos Pimenta, of the Civil Police of Minas Gerais, reported that the driver said he was in a lot of pain. “We have chosen to refer him to a doctor, so that he can decide whether he should be hospitalized or whether he is ready to be sent to prison.”
The driver did not have a driving license. In 2011 he obtained a provisional licence, but received a very serious fine and was unable to obtain a permanent licence.

The 32-year-old passenger who died is Cayke Pelegrino Tavares. He was thrown from the car after the accident and succumbed to his injuries, dying at the scene.
The driver is the entrepreneur Rodrigo Rodrigues Andrade Chiatti, also 32 years old, who was rescued conscious and taken injured to the João XXIII hospital.
Rodrigo was conscious, but when he was approached after the accident, while walking along the avenue, he said he didn’t know what was happening and that he was being chased. He presented with slurred speech, alcohol on his breath and red eyes, and was offered a breathalyser test, which he refused.
