On April 21, 2022, TF1 broadcast the final episode of Section de Recherches. After nearly 14 years in the channel’s heyday, the Xavier Deluc-led detective series bowed out thanks to a special bonus that saw the return of former cast members such as Linda Hardy, Jean-Pascal Lacoste and Christelle Labaud.
But just in case fans thought they’d finally said goodbye to the series, TF1 has backtracked, announcing a year after the last episode aired that Bernier, Lucas and others are back for two new 52-minute episodes.
The turnaround was probably motivated by the well-received finale, which averaged 5.07 million viewers.
Actors from Section de Recherches met on Reunion Island last May to film these new episodes. Xavier Deluc (Bernier), Franck Semonin (Lucas), Fabien Carat (Jeanne), Félicité Chatton (Vicky) and Alice Thielroy (Ariel) are reunited.
If no broadcast date for TF1 has been announced yet, it seems the channel isn’t ready to put the research department in the closet just yet.
A new bonus is in the process of preparation
It is through the story Instagram Posting on his account, Frank Semonin has announced good news for fans of the research department. The series will indeed return with another bonus, which will begin filming soon.
He told his subscribers: “Return to the gym to prepare for the next research section“. The one who plays Lucas Auriol also revealed that filming is due to start on Sunday, January 20, for around four weeks.
And after the reunion, the production decided to settle on another paradise island. According to the information of our colleagues Recreational television, this new episode will be filmed in Martinique. As for the casting, Xavier Deluc and Fabien Carat should return.
