This is the most anticipated fantasy series of late 2023 and it promises to be incredible! Ten years after the movies, Rick Riordan’s literary series has been adapted into a TV series, this time on Disney+.
Percy Jackson and the Olympians follows the adventures of a 12-year-old modern demigod who has just received his newfound supernatural powers when the mighty Zeus accuses him of stealing a lightning bolt. Percy will have to search for her all over the United States to restore order to Olympus.
For the role of Percy Jackson, it was a young Walker Scobell – featured in Adam Through Time with Ryan Reynolds – chosen to replace Logan Lerman, who was the hero of the films.
The 14-year-old actor is joined by two other young talents to form a new trio of Harry Potter-style apprentice characters, Ariane Simhadri as best friend and satyr Grover, and Leah Jeffries as Annabeth, daughter of Athena.
The rest of the cast includes Lin-Manuel Miranda (Hermes), Virginia Cooley (Sally Jackson), Jason Mantzoukas (Dionysus), Megan Mullally (Alecto), Tobey Stevens (Poseidon), Jay Duplass (Hades), Glynn Thurman (Chiron), Adam Copeland (Ares), Charlie Bushnell (Luke Castellani), Jessica Parker Kennedy (Medusa) and the late Lance Reddick as Zeus.
