Starring Stephen Amell for 8 seasons of Arrow, vigilante archer Oliver Queen, the real Robin Hood of the DC Universe, almost came to shoot some arrows on the big screen… in the guise of Charlie Hunnam.
Although the British actor will soon star in Zack Snyder’s sci-fi film Rebel Moon (which hits Netflix hours earlier than expected), he recently confirmed that he was indeed offered Green Arrow’s green cape and suit.
However, the actor did not specify when the proposal took place, nor if it was a solo adventure for the character or a role in the DC Universe. In this particular case, Hunnam undoubtedly crossed paths with Snyder before his time, even if he claims he never interacted with him on the subject:
“I never talked about it “– he said on the microphone ComicBook.com.
“Honestly, I don’t remember who I talked to about it. The guys in the suits talked to me about the idea, they thought it would be really interesting for me to play Green Arrow, and I didn’t agree. Their enthusiasm.”
Charlie Hunnam explained that he had no idea about the character when he was told about it, making the decision in the blink of an eye:
“I don’t know who Green Arrow is, I don’t want to offend anyone, but I looked at her picture and said, ‘I’m not sure green is my color and I’m pretty. Of course, lycra is not my material.
Would you like to play Charlie Hunnam’s Green Arrow in a movie?
