This week, the Brazilian fighter’s agent and girlfriend, Tamara Alves, revealed to the MMAFighting site that the Minas Gerais native wants to fight at UFC 299 against Robert Whittaker, despite statements from the New Zealander’s representatives that the potential rival would not made no move to confirm this fight.
– I would like to clarify that we have been asking for this fight between Paulo and Robert for weeks – said Tamara.
The beginning of this “discrepancy” occurred when Whittaker’s agent, Titus Day, said in an interview with Australia’s Fox Sports that his client wanted to face Borrachinha and mentioned possible conversations about it. But he stated that the Minas Gerais native would not respond to requests from “Bobby Knuckles” and that the possible rival wants to “play with the UFC”, which was countered by the agent of the former 84-year-old title challenger kg.
