The Scottish metalheads played a prominent role in Vice City and appeared in the previous game
Grand Theft Auto VI is set in Vice City, a fan-favorite city of GTA. Taking inspiration from Miami, the city has already hosted two matches (Vicecity AND Vice City Stories) in the past and will be the stage for Lucia and Jason’s adventures when the new game debuts in 2025.

Although Rockstar divides the GTA games into two very separate universes (the 3D universe and the HD universe), fans expect to find references to the original Vice City when exploring the streets and beaches of Grand Theft Auto VI. And it wouldn’t be strange: there are San Andreas Easter eggs in GTA V, for example. More importantly: the hard rock band Fist of love exists in both universes!
Fist of love

The band Love Fist is a fictional Scottish hard rock band, inspired by successful 1980s bands such as Mötley Crüe, Guns ‘N Roses and Poison, although the most direct inspiration is the British band The Sweet, who have a musical style very similar. The group played a prominent role in GTA: Vice City and was mentioned in several games in the series in subsequent years.
The band is made up of the singer Jezz Torrent, Willy, Fuck AND Percy – yes, all the names are nicknames or references to the male member, except that of the group leader, which is much worse.
In 1984, the year of GTA: Vice City Stories, the band plays a show in the city, and in 1986, in Vice City, Love Fist goes through the city on tour”Prostate cold as stone heart of steel“, under the care of Kent Paul, the game’s hacking agent.

In the early 1990s, a GTA San Andreas, observant players learn that Willy has left the group, which appears with just three members on a poster at the Vinyl Countdown. The group returns to their original lineup in 1998, as can be seen on a billboard GTA: Liberty City Storys, announcing Love Fist’s comeback tour.
HD Universe

Unlike other GTA characters, such as Claude, CJ and Tommy, Love Fist also appears to exist in the so-called ‘HD Universe’ games, which includes Grand Theft Auto IV, V and now, GTA VI.
In GTA IV there is an advertisement for a group show at the SuperStar Café in Liberty City. Similarly, in GTA V there is a Love Fist show, for one night only, at the Tequi-la-la club, in Los Santos. One of the game’s protagonists, Trevor, wears a bandeau tank top.

They would be just Easter eggs, if it weren’t for one irrefutable proof: Willy McTavish, one of the band members – and the only one not wearing black gloves – appears in a “Strangers and Freaks” mission, in which Trevor must take out the his gold tooth for a tourist named Nigel. In case Trevor kills the artist, he says: “Oops, sorry, Love Fist fans“.
It is interesting to note that Willy does not appear physically in previous games, the artist is present in the concept art of the group, he is mentioned by his colleagues and other characters, but in one of the missions of GTA: Vice City only his voice is heard.
What will the band be like in 2025?
There are several clues in GTA IV and V as to the whereabouts of the Love Fist members and it’s likely that they will appear in the next game, as rock stars in decline or, even worse, trying to follow new directions in their lives after fame.
In GTA IV, Lazlow mentions the band on his radio show and on the website Fistfans.com (which is not dedicated to the band, but to fans of, well, something else). The group is said to be involved in a legal dispute over the website’s domain, as well as a story about singer Jezz Torrent having “met God”. Lazlow returns to talk about Jezz in the reality show ‘Fame of Shame’, in GTA V, saying that the singer has launched a solo career.

In GTA V there is also a quick appearance of the band’s manager and one of the composers. The manager comments that the members of Love Fist are recovering from past excesses and that they practice Yoga and use probiotics.
With so many recurring clues about Love Fist’s career and its members’ status over the decades, it’s very likely that the quartet will return for one last tour when GTA VI arrives in 2025.
Grand Theft Auto VI is scheduled for 2025, with versions for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S.
