Netflix is developing a spin-off series from “Wandinha.” Plans are already in full swing to produce an Uncle Chico series. The character from “The Addams Family” appeared briefly in the first season of “Wandinha”, played by Fred Armisen.
The horror comedy is the most popular English-language series on Netflix, with 252.1 million views, nearly double the number of second place.
For now, the script for the spin-off is still in the early stages of development. The project depends on Netflix negotiating with MGM and Amazon, which hold the rights to the franchise. The goal is to establish a partnership that guarantees the production of numerous other titles set in the same universe.
“Wandinha” has been renewed for a second season, which does not yet have a premiere date. On the rise, the series’ star, Jenna Ortega, has a full schedule of film projects: she will appear in at least five films in 2024.
