Big Little Lies, The Undoing and Nine Perfect Strangers, Nicole Kidman continues her adventures on the small screen. The Oscar-winning actor is the star of Expats, one of the most prestigious series offered by the Prime Video platform in 2024.
Adapted from the novel Expatriates By Janice I.K Lee, the story follows a group of women in Hong Kong. Among them, an American who has been living in China for several years, played by Nicole Kidman. When the latter loses track of her son, the fate of all these women is turned upside down.
Described as a series about identity and motherhood, Expats could be one of Prime Video’s big new hits. As director we find Lulu Wang, whose film L’Adieu – The Farewell with Awkwafina made a strong impression when it was released in 2019.
The trailer, recently released by Prime Video, suggests a powerful and exotic personal drama – the city of Hong Kong, the setting of the story, seems to play a fundamental role.
After Expats, Nicole Kidman will also return to Prime Video for a second season Nine perfect strangers The plot of which will take place in the Alps. The actor will again find the role of the annoying guru.
The Immigrants will be available on Prime Video on January 26.
