“The Boys Presents: Varsity,” the college spin-off of “The Boys” in development, will feature guest guest appearances from the original cast members.
The information was confirmed by the showrunner of “The Boys”, Eric Kripke, who in an interview with the magazine rolling stone confirmed that we will have cameos from the cast members of the main series in the spin-off.
Asked if the established characters in “The Boys” will appear in “The Boys Presents: Varsity,” the showrunner confirmed. “Yes. Without spoiling anything, I think there are going to be a lot of really cool cameos. Because it’s a college run by Vought, so the crossover with Vought’s characters is really inevitable,” Kripke commented.
“The Boys Presents: Varsity” is a spin-off series that will take place in a university setting. The series will focus on the so-called G-Men, a team of superhumans from the Ennis and Robertson comics, who are a parody of Marvel’s X-Men.
Therefore, the story will follow a group of empowered young adults attending a Vought institution called the Godolkin University School of Crimefighting. There, your skills are tested in various challenges. The development of “Varsity” was authorized by Prime Video in September 2021. Kripke is the executive producer of the spin-off, while Michele Fazekas and Tara Butters are the showrunners.
The main cast includes Lizze Broadway as Emma Shaw and Jaz Sinclair as Marie Moreau. Other main characters will be played by Chance Perdomo, Maddie Phillips, London Thor, Derek Luh, Asa Germann and Shelley Conn, in roles yet to be revealed. The recurring cast will also include Patrick Schwarzenegger as the Golden Boy, as well as Sean Patrick Thomas and Brazilian Marco Pigossi, whose characters have not been revealed.
Production began in May 2022 and is expected to finish in October. “The Boys Presents: Varsity” will be the second spin-off of “The Boys”, which also includes the animated anthology “The Boys Presents: Diabolical”, which hit Prime Video this year. “Varsity” doesn’t have a confirmed release date yet.
Meanwhile, the third season of “The Boys” has already premiered on Prime Video, with new episodes arriving on Thursday. You can check the program of the first episode here.
