A childhood dream come true. This could be Henry Cavill’s new project. Announced after the departure of the English actor The Witcher and the Superman franchise, the Warhammer 40K series is an adaptation of the famous painting miniatures license, which is already available in books, video games and various manufactured products.
A year ago we learned that Henry Cavill would be headlining an adaptation produced by Premier Video. The announcement came after his departure from the Witcher series due to artistic differences. A huge fan of the Warhammer universe, Henry Cavill will also executive produce the series.
However, there was no talk of the project in recent months. statement Games Workshop, sent by the company, confirmed the good progress of the program: “Things are coming together and rest assured that we’ll bring you the latest news and interesting tidbits as soon as we can.”
This press release also confirms Henry Cavill’s heavy involvement in the project, “Bring your pen, sword and/or spear” for program development. From there it is assumed that the latter will also be the co-creator of the program? Still, his vision seems to be really at the heart of the project.
Initiated in the late 1980s, the Warhammer 40K saga takes place in the distant future, where humanity finds itself on the edge of what could be its brightest future or its darkest age.
The threats to the human empire are many: traitors driven by the fires of ambition, alien empires vowing to reclaim the cosmos, and a reality corrupted by evil gods.
His taste for geek culture is well known, and Henry Cavill admits to being a fan of the Warhammer license from an early age. A passion often mentioned on the set of the talk show and which allowed him to fulfill his dream by visiting the Warhammer company premises (see video below).
Although a filming date has yet to be announced, so it seems reasonable not to expect the Warhammer 40K series on Prime Video until 2025, at best.
