It All Begins Here: What’s in store for Friday, December 22, 2023 Episode 823 [SPOILERS]

Friday, December 22, it all starts here…

Anais hopes to return with Theo

At the swamp dweller, Anais got up early to work on the Christmas menu. Salome joins him, admiring his work. She rightly believes that this has to do with what Tessier had announced the day before: Theo’s return to the Institute for Christmas. Anais admits she feels stressed and has to deliver a menu that meets the standards. Salome supports him.

At the workshop, Salome hands out the new technical sheets for her menu to her team. The dish is made with sake and scallops. The first starter is a plate of oysters, champagne and caviar and the second starter is a plate of salsify, black garlic and foie gras. Finally, Anais makes a last-minute modification, substituting candied egg yolks for salsify. Salome tastes and approves. However, these multiple changes annoy Carla, who doesn’t hesitate to say so. Anais reshapes it, then demands perfection from her staff.

After two hours of intense work, the clerks are resting completely exhausted. They can’t stand Anais’s tyrannical behavior towards them. When Salome joins them, they tell her about it. Salome agrees to have a word with her best friend.

The cooking session resumes and Anais is still abusive. Salome takes him aside to open her eyes to his behavior. Anais admits that she needs to come up with a special menu. She has a secret hope that by tasting her, Theo will realize how much she misses him and they can be together again. Salome understands, but asks her friend to calm down. Anais catches herself.

A little later, Teyssier comes to taste their new Christmas menu. He was impressed. After the director leaves the workshop, Anais apologizes to her crew for taking it out on them instead of taking it. He congratulates everyone on their hard work.

In the dressing rooms, Hortense comes to see Salome to congratulate her on the Christmas menu, which she can’t wait to try with her mother. After Vic tells her the truth about the Institute’s Secret Santa, Hortense wants to make it clear to Salome that she holds no grudge against her. Not even for Anais. He understood that their gesture came from good intentions. In turn, Salome worries about Anais, who hopes to get back with Theo. Hortense then reveals that she had Celia on the phone. He told her that Theo was putting his world tour on hold to open a restaurant with him in Paris. It is for this reason that the young man intends to return to the institute: to name her in front of everyone.

Salome immediately goes to Tayce’s office to ask Theo not to come to the institute’s Christmas party. She tells him what Hortense told her. Teissier did not know this. He also thinks that his arrival will upset Anais…

Rose meets Carla’s parents

While she is at the park with Antoine, Rose receives a message from Carla who wants to see her. Rose is thrilled, especially since she hasn’t seen her biological daughter since the miscarriage and can’t stop thinking about her. Antoine is pretty positive that Carla wants to see him. Rose is really just asking to be able to bond with him.

After finding Carla, Rose quickly becomes disillusioned. The young girl no longer wants to talk about miscarriage. He gets right down to business and announces the arrival of his parents at noon. They want to meet Rose and make sure she isn’t going to steal their daughter. Rose agrees to see them.

Rose then confides her concerns to Clotilde. He hopes to find the right balance with Carla’s family. Clotilda thinks they just need reassurance that he won’t take their place.

A little later, Rose takes in Carla and her parents. Disturbed by what they read about her online, they want to know more about the circumstances of Carla’s birth. After Rose killed her biological father, they also want to make sure he’s not a threat to their daughter. Shocked by the adoptive parents’ reaction, Carla comes to Rose’s defense. However, he agrees to tell them Raphael’s story in hopes that they will understand that he is not in danger.

Jasmine offers Kelly and Lionel to live with her

After a sleepover at Jasmine’s house, Kelly and Lionel share a happy moment with their friend and her son. Everyone laughs at Niall painting Lionel’s face while he sleeps.

At the institute, Leticia meets Jasmine and Thibaut. He tells them that he is having a hard time coming to terms with the fact that his daughter will no longer be living with him. She fears that their relationship will change after she leaves. Jasmine tries to calm him down, to no avail.

In the cafeteria, Jasmine suggests that Kelly and Lionel move in with her. The couple is surprised, especially since they had quite expected to find an apartment in the city, far from the institute. Jasmin emphasizes that it would comfort Laetitia to get to know her daughter up close. Besides, it would be nice for Jasmine to have people around like she did when she was taking care of Nael with Greg and Elliot. But he sees that Kelly and Lionel are not impressed.

Back at home, Jasmine confides her frustrations in Thibaut. At the same time, Kelly and Lionel knock on his door to tell him that they will accept his proposal. Although they mostly wanted to move in together to find some privacy, the couple realized that friendship was also important.
