After The Vampire Diaries’ Kat Graham doubled down on her refusal to return to the franchise, creator Julie Plec responded

Spoiler ahead for the series finale. bequests, “Don’t be a stranger, okay?” So read at your own risk!

The long service life vampire diary The franchise ended (for now) after the series finale of bequestswho aired last week on The CW. The episode notably saw the return of Joseph Morgan’s Klaus and saw a guest appearance by Candice King’s Caroline Forbes. However, a person who has not shown up is RST veterinarian Kat Graham, who recently doubled down on her refusal to return to the franchise. That said, designer Julie Plec spoke.

During its four seasons, bequests did a masterful job of bringing characters from other shows into the vampire diary universe. Yet despite this, some may have been waiting for the appearance of Kat Graham’s fan favorite witch, Bonnie Bennett. While the actress has openly said that she didn’t want to reprise the role of her, Julie Plec told her Term which you can always return if you change your mind:

The door will always be open for Bonnie Bennett, whether it’s a spin-off or a guest appearance, it doesn’t matter. But I know Kat has a very strong point of view on what she wants her career to be and Bonnie’s place in it and I totally respect that.

Even though Kat Graham has insisted on not returning to the vampire-focused franchise, it’s good to know the option is still available for her if she changes her mind. Of course, though, she also makes sense that she doesn’t feel the need to reprise her role as she’s moved on. However, if Joseph Morgan can change his mind at the “right time”, who says she can’t either?

Julie Plec went on to explain that she and her co-workers have approached the star on several occasions, regarding a possible return. With that, the creator praised her work and ethics and took note of her activities after thethe vampire diaries:

We have reached out to Kat several times over the years about various things related to The Vampire Diaries and she has always been very nice. She is very friendly because she does well. She feels like she has finished the journey as Bonnie, taking the good parts of this journey with her and leaving the bad parts of her behind to move on to the next stage of her career. She has grown up and is doing very well with her music, her appearances and her acting.

Some of these shouldn’t be too surprising to hear, as Julie Plec was open to wanting Kat Graham and others to return for bequests. Although the third spin-off of the franchise (after The originals) is finished, there is still hope, as Plec recently shared that he is planning something else for the franchise. The super producer did not give specific details on what a production like this would be like, although it could be assumed that he would have chosen something new but keeping the spirit of the franchise.

It would be wonderful to see Kat Graham as Bonnie again, and if she returns, maybe Michael Malarkey, who played the character’s boyfriend, Lorenzo “Enzo” St. John, could also return. After all, Michael Malarkey had to return while the franchise was up and running. Let’s hope Graham, Malarkey and others find their way back into the franchise, should it find new life through another spin-off created by Julie Plec, of course.
