The writers’ and actors’ strike that rocked Hollywood last summer halted or delayed several movies, including Season 2 of One Piece. Netflix’s adaptation of the manga was one of the pleasant surprises of 2023, and many are looking forward to the sequel.
Starting with One Piece fans. Those who have read the volumes or seen the anime know that Season 2 will fit the Alabasta arc, which sees our Straw Hats descend on the Grand Line in search of legendary treasure. They discover the kingdom of Alabasta in the grip of a civil war and meet various characters that will be crucial to the rest of their adventure.
Starting with Robin. When Luffy and his friends meet him, he is part of a criminal organization (laughed at in season 1) led by a man who will be the big bad in the following episodes. She will play a crucial role in One Piece for a few reasons that I won’t reveal here so as not to spoil it for you.

The choice of the actor to play the role of Robin on live TV, so fans are watching from all sides, especially on social networks. It seems that the novice investigators have found someone who will give the pirate his qualities: the American Erin Monal – unknown to the battalion – who will pass the casting to play in the second season.
He looked at her Instagram account, we see him being followed by one of the series’ writers, Matt Owens, as well as several actors, including Emily Rudd (Nami). Another interesting fact, the young woman seems to have adopted a new haircut in recent months, which perfectly matches Robin in the manga and anime. Add to that the fact that he’s a huge fan of One Piece, and you have the perfect candidate to play the budding archaeologist on screen.
Netflix has yet to make an announcement regarding One Piece season 2 casting, but it shouldn’t be long. Especially since Robin isn’t the only important character to be introduced in the rest of the series: we still don’t know Smoker’s interpreters (the naval officer we see in the post scene). Or Crocodile, the big bad guy of the Alabasta arc. Finally, the biggest mystery at the moment remains the design of Chopper, the lovable reindeer/straw hat doctor, which will logically be done entirely in CGI.
