2023 ends with little rain in southern Brazil

After the spring floods, the year 2023 ends with a predominance of sunshine in the Southern Region. Cold air of polar origin refreshes the three states.

After spring floods, southern Brazil ends 2023 with mostly sunshine and little rain. After causing storms and winds this Friday, December 29, a cold front moves away from the Southern Region and cold air of polar origin spreads over the United States, reducing humidity and conditions for rain.

The presence of this cold air will leave southern Brazil cool and without thunderstorms in the last weekend of 2023. Check the weather forecast for the end of 2024.

Forecast for Saturday 12/30/2023

For this Saturday, 12/30/23, the forecast is that the entire Southern Region will have sunshine for most of the day and pleasant temperatures. The entry of cold air of polar origin, after the passage of a cold front, will refresh the three states.

Some rain showers are still expected this Saturday in the mountains of Rio Grande do Sul, in the south, on the coast and in the Valle do Itajaí, in Santa Catarina, in the center-north and in the east of Paraná. But the rains that will occur will, in general, be light to moderate and will not cause inconvenience to the population.

Moderate to heavy rain may occur on the border between Paraná and São Paulo on Saturday.

Last day of 2023

On Sunday, December 31, 2023, the weather will still be mostly sunny and dry in southern Brazil. It may rain lightly on the Paraná coast, where the year ends with cloudy skies.

In Greater Curitiba, the Itajaí Valley and the Santa Catarina coast, Sunday will be cloudy, with mild temperatures and it may rain. There may be some rain showers in the center and west of Santa Catarina, but they will be short-lived and without risk of disruption.

In other areas of Santa Catarina, Paraná and throughout Rio Grande do Sul, the last day of 2023 will be with sun and some clouds, but no rain.

Go to 2024

The arrival in 2024 should occur with stable weather in almost the entire Southern Region. In Curitiba, on the Paraná coast, in Florianópolis, in the Itajaí valley and on the Santa Catarina coast it could rain. In Porto Alegre we will move on to 2024 with clear weather.

Rain showers will return to almost all of southern Brazil from Monday afternoon.
