And imagination was, I think, one of Roald Dahl’s strengths as a storyteller.”

For Johnny Depp, one of the best aspects of the novel Barley and the chocolate factory lives “The twists and turns of Roald Dahl’s writing. You think the story is going in one direction and suddenly it goes in another direction, offering you another alternative, another path that makes you think. More generally, Charlie and the Chocolate Factory is a great morality tale, but it’s also very magical and It’s fun.”
