One of the best horror films of 2023, Speak with me arrived streaming this Thursday (4). From today the film, a success with critics and audiences, is available for Prime Video subscribers.
The film is directed by brothers Danny and Michael Philippou and has won over fans of horror stories by using a different tactic. With a strong critique of Generation Z, the plot presents spirits not as something to be feared, but rather as a game played by young people. Until everything goes out of control.
This is how a group of university students find a mysterious embalmed hand that works as a sort of possession channel: anyone who touches the object sees their body invaded by a spirit. A great idea to create a game and have fun. Truly? (watch the film).
Speak with me it also addresses Generation Z’s spectacularization of misfortune. The protagonists are more interested in sharing everything on their cell phones than in actually living (and surviving, in this case).
