Warning, spoilers. It is advisable to watch the Berlin series before continuing reading this article.

Available on Netflix, Berlin is a series derived from La Casa de Papel, one of the platform’s biggest hits. Its creator, Alex Pina, expanded the franchise with a spin-off centered around one of the iconic characters, Andres de Fonolo, aka Berlin (Pedro Alonso).

We find the notorious criminal in his heyday, years before the events of La Casa de Papel, for the heist of the century…in Paris! Berlin unites a new gang to steal a pile of jewelry worth 44 million euros from the French capital.

But the spin-off series not only welcomes new faces, but also brings back old ones: Thus, Itziar Ituno and Najwa Nimri returned to the place of Raquel Murillo and Alicia Sierra when they were still police officers. They are the ones who investigate the robbery and put themselves on the trail of Berlin.

Professor Berlin in the TV series?

Given that Berlin is a prequel, we can expect other characters to be around the anti-hero played by Pedro Alonso, such as the famous Sergio Marquina, aka the Professor (Alvaro Morte). who is none other than Berlin’s half-brother.

In the last installments of La Casa de Papel, fans were able to find many flashbacks between the professor and Berlin, who had already been making plans years earlier to rob the Mint and Stamp Factory and the Bank of Spain.

Fans can expect the professor to make a physical or vocal appearance in the Berlin prequel. Well, it’s not! Sergio just isn’t in spin-off Berlin.

The Berlin series takes place before the final installments of La Casa de Papel are released, and Andres and Sergio may not have met before. After all, they are half-brothers and their paths diverged in their youth.

A few years later, Sergio only dreamed of the robberies his father told him about, and Andres was already an experienced criminal, as evidenced by his robbery in Paris!

The series La Casa de Papel and Berlin are available on Netflix.
