Fortaleza and Lucas Crispim will follow different paths from 2024 onwards.
One of Fortaleza’s most important players in recent years, midfielder Lucas Crispim said goodbye to Leão this week and will continue his career as a professional football athlete.
The 29-year-old athlete began his career as a professional athlete at Santos in 2014. From then until the present day, Crispim has played for several clubs such as: Vasco, Joinville, Atletico-GO, Ituano, São Bento and Guarani before arriving at Fortaleza in 2021.
After landing in Ceará, Crispim became an important player for Leão and played incredibly 128 games (9 goals and 17 assists) and was three-time champion of Ceará (2021-23) as well as champion of the Copa do Nordeste in 2022. In addition to the titles, Lucas participated in Leão’s G4 campaigns in 2021 and the club’s recent participation in international competitions.
On their official website, Fortaleza Esporte Clube released a note on the player’s departure:
“The Fortaleza Esporte Clube thanks, in a special way, the midfielder Lucas Crispim for all his dedication and honor to the Manto Tricolor during the last three seasons. During this period, the athlete played 128 matches, scored 9 goals and added 17 assists, in addition to having won four titles.
Our boy is remembered in history for having contributed to the historic seasons of the Club. Crispim arrived in 2021, when he was the greatest waiter and brought the Tricolor to the G4 of the Brasileirão, to third place in the Copa do Brasil and to the unprecedented dispute in the CONMEBOL Libertadores.
In 2022, the midfielder played in the continent’s biggest competition and stood out for assisting Romero’s goal against River Plate in the crowded Arena Castelão. An unforgettable match for the entire Tricolor Nation. In the same season he took part in the historic passage of Serie A from the relegation zone to another challenge in the Libertadores.
In addition to these great campaigns, Lucas Crispim is a three-time Champion of Cearense (2021 – 2023), Champion of the Copa do Nordeste 2022 and Vice-Champion of the South American 2023.
Faced with so many unforgettable moments, goals from free kicks and dancing during each goal celebration with his teammates, Fortaleza thanks the player for his respect for the Tricolor Mantle. As well as wishing you success in your next challenges.”
Now with the official departure from Fortaleza, Crispim will play in Thai football defending the colors of Buriram United.
