On the Other Side of the Bed is an adaptation of the novel of the same name by Alix Giraud de l’Ain. Even before writing the film, director Pascal Pouzadou and the producers immediately thought of Sophie Marceau.
“I didn’t know him, but we’re the same age and I’ve seen him blossom from film to film, from a young age to become the great actor that he is.”The director confides. “She was perfect for the role of Ariane: she’s cute, she’s bubbly, and she has a motherly side. She’s lively and funny. I wanted to do a comedy with her.”
The next question was whom she should marry. At that time, the production team considered several actors, but Danny Boone turned out to be the most interesting choice.
“Many men could have played Sophie’s husband, but for the most part, their relationship was too obvious to risk predictability.”Pascal Pousadou notes. “Dan was the perfect fit without being a bad fit.
The role is quite a departure from his previous characters, but not far from his true nature. He has this elegant, masculine, graceful side that the role required. We sent him the script and he got it in three days. He loved the idea of being Sophie Marceau’s husband.
Tonight on NRJ 12 at 9:10 p.m.
