Lucasfilm, the producer responsible Star Warsannounced this Tuesday (09) that he is working The Mandalorian and Grogu, films about Mandalorian characters and Grogu (little Yoda). The feature film will be produced and directed by Jon Fraveau, showrunner of the series The Mandalorian, which introduced the duo to the saga universe on Disney+. Production is expected to begin later this year.

Second expiration, production on the film is expected to begin this year. Kathleen Kennedy and Dave Filoni will also participate in the project.
Kennedy is president of Lucasfilm, a company founded by George Lucas and responsible for Star Wars, also acquired by Disney. She and Filoni are series producers in the saga universe, as The Mandalorian, Ahsoka AND The Boba Fett book. Filoni still participates in the screenplay and direction of the works.
The return of Pedro Pascal as the Mandalorian The Mandalorian and Grogu has not been confirmed. A fourth season of the series in which she stars is also in development.
What Jon Fraveau says
Jon Fraveau, who in addition to being showrunner (main producer) of The Mandalorian he is a screenwriter and is involved in the cast, he stated that he is “extremely excited” to bring the story of the Mandalorian and his apprentice Grogu to the “big screen”.
Kennedy stressed that the duo’s story and Fraveau and Filoni’s participation in the project are perfect for cinema.
