Suicide Squad is one of the best hero films ever made, says director

During an interview with The Hollywood Reporter, Ayer explained how the original version of Suicide squad is “a great movie.” As he himself recalled, several people saw the first cut and, most, opined that “it was one of the best comic book films ever made.”

“I was ridiculed in the media repeatedly for this, and then criticized repeatedly at the press releases of subsequent franchises, but I kept my mouth shut for years,” the filmmaker continued. “I learned that nature abhors a vacuum, and if you don’t tell your story, someone else will.”
