Zack Snyder revealed that he hoped to “fix” Star Wars with Rebel Moonwhich was born as an idea for the franchise created by George Lucas, but ended up being released by Netflix last December. In conversation with Louis Leterrier (Fast & Furious 10), on the Hollywood Directors Guild podcast, the filmmaker recalled his initial argument for selling the production to Lucasfilm:
“We were working on editing Steel man and I told Christopher Nolan: ‘I have an idea, I’m going to call Kathleen Kennedy [presidente da Lucasfilm] and I will introduce you. I have an idea for this movie Star Warsbecause at that time (…) Star Wars it was in silent mode”he explained.
“And I remember thinking, ‘They need me! This is cool, I’ll fix it. Star Wars!’. Additionally, I also had some issues with some of the decisions in the prequels — I won’t say what, but I felt they [Lucasfilm] they had gotten a little lost.
