- Want another TV tip tonight? We recommend an extraordinary war film from one of Quentin Tarantino’s masters!
In What else can we do to the good Lord?, which drew more than 6.7 million viewers to theaters, Claude and Marie Vernoy (Christian Clavier and Chantal Laub) face a new crisis. Their four sons-in-law, Rasheed, David, Chao and Charles, actually decided to leave France with their wives and children to try their luck abroad.
Unable to imagine their family far from them, Claude and Marie are willing to do anything to keep them together. On the other hand, the Kofis arrive in France for their daughter’s wedding. They don’t end with surprises either…
To find the structure of the first film where four girls marry foreigners at the same time, Philippe de Chevron found the common adventure of the four couples interesting. “Then we were in the middle of the presidential campaign and I felt the fear of extremism around me”– says the director. “I heard people say they would leave France if either party won and noticed that many minority citizens complained of discrimination they were victims of.”
Christian Clavier immediately agreed to reprise the role of Claude Verneau for this second opus. “I told Philippe de Cheuvron that I would follow him if the adventure continued, because I enjoyed the first part and, considering the triumph that was reserved for this film, it seemed obvious to me to play in the sequel.”– says the actor. “It’s always nice to have the community with you. It’s not about counting records, it’s about sharing something with the audience and saying that we have a common sense of humor.”
Tonight on TF1 at 21:10.
