while the original my big greek wedding in 2002 it was widely acclaimed, nominated for an Oscar and remains the highest-grossing romantic comedy of all time, neither the spin-off TV series nor the 2016 sequel have had the same impact. However, creator Nia Vardalos is still looking for a comedy in the family drama and is currently working on a third film, which has started shooting in Greece.
Vardalos, who created the show that brought the original film to life (with a little help from Rita Wilson), writes and acts as usual and, as he reveals via Instagram, this time too directs.
However, the plot remains silent for now. TermSources have learned that the wedding this time will be with Paris, daughter of Toula (Vardalos) and Ian (John Corbett), and will mainly take place in Greece rather than Chicago. Of course, Toula’s noisy and passionate family will be involved, although the film will have to do without Michael Constantine, who played Toula’s father but died last August.
It is unclear when the film could debut.
