With over 700 films to his credit, he is truly the most prolific Italian actor in film history. However, many moviegoers have not seen any of the feature films in which the latter appeared. Her name ? Rocco Sifredi, the biggest star of pornographic cinema.
After Tapie, Netflix decides to put another media personality on hold, whose career remains largely unknown in the eyes of much of the public. A true dive behind the scenes of the porn industry, the series will also give us a look at Rocco Tano’s (his real name) dealings with the underworld.
Halfway between a biopic and a thriller, Supersex – which is the title of the series – will also explore the close relationship between Rocco and his mother in deeply conservative Italy. Served with an elegant and shocking aesthetic reminiscent of the atmosphere of Brett Easton Ellis novels, the series sees Transalpine actor Alessandro Borgh (Subura) lend his features to a porn superstar.
A pseudonym in honor of Alain Delon
For reference, the stage name Rocco Siffredi honors the career of Alain Delon; The first name Rocco (which is his birth name) refers to the movie Rocco and his brothers, and the last name Sifred is the character played by the French actor in Borsalino.
Note that Rocco Siffredi’s career was also distinguished by several films of so-called traditional cinema, such as Kathryn Bryant’s Anatomy of Hell or Frank Gastambide’s Les Kaira (in his own role). The documentary Rocco, which was released in cinemas in 2016, also looked back on the Italian actor’s XXL career.
The supersex series, inspired by the life of Rocco Sifredi, will be available exclusively on Netflix starting March 6.
