Classic movie lovers will be envious of anyone with a Netflix account in the US. In fact, the streaming giant has launched something new for customers in the North American country: an exclusive catalog with classic films that will turn 50 in 2024.
The new feature is called Essential Films: The Anniversary Collection. A specialist curator selected the films for the list, which includes big names. Subsequently the streaming catalog will add productions celebrating their 20th, 30th and 40th years. But for now it includes titles from 1974.
Among the 17 films in the added collection, productions such as:

As for films from 1984 and 1994, Netflix announced that the list for those years is expected to be released in April and July respectively. There is still the release scheduled for October, with the 2004 films.
We can only hope that this new feature arrives in Brazil soon, although it is currently unknown when Netflix will expand the new feature outside of the United States.
Netflix leads the list of nominations for the best animations of 2023
The traditional Annie Awards have released the list of nominees for the 2024 edition of the event. Among the highlights are successful productions, such as Nimonafrom Netflix, Elementsfrom Disney/Pixar, e Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verseby Sony.
Overall, Netflix films and series dominated the list with 28 nominations. The closest competitors were Disney, with eight nominees, and Pixar and Lucasfilm, with seven nominees each. Find out more here.
