FGTS Digital is expected to change the reality of accounting professionals. The testing period of the new form of integrated management of the collection process has already concluded and it is expected that the portal will go into production on March 1st.
According to Angela Dantas, consultant at the Federal Accounting Council (CFC), innovation represents an important paradigm shift, but it should bring a series of facilitations and improvements.

“FGTS Digital will enable the generation of guides for multiple skills and a single document; the release of partial guides, with one or a few operators, combined with one or a few skills; the collection of the additional value per worker, without the need to send an entire replacement file; and reversal of payments. The refund, compensation and installment will be 100% digital,” he specifies.

From now on the first step for accounting professionals will be to understand how the portal works. Angela explains that, after generating the invoices, it is essential to use the “Simulate Payment” option to have a complete view of the process.
“FGTS Digital will receive worker data from eSocial and events S-1200, S-2299 and S-2399, when these are received as valid. However, you must be careful, since the values do not depend on the closure of eSocial. It is important to check, before issuing the Collection Guide, whether all the necessary information for all workers has been sent.”
Regarding the expiry of the FGTS, the CFC advisor explains that, once the digital system comes into force, the monthly collection date of the fund will move to the 20th of the month following maturation. Payment will be made exclusively via Pix, the barcode will no longer be present. Delayed payment will not generate new sanctions, but the blocking of the FGTS Certificate of Regularity (CRF), known as CND, will be more flexible.
“The inspection will also be faster, as the management of the FGTS has been transferred to the Secretariat of the Labor Inspectorate (SIT) at the Ministry of Labor (MTE), and will no longer depend on the Caixa Econômica Federal (CEF) to provide data on defaulters”, comments Angela.
The collection and modification of FGTS dating back to periods prior to FGTS Digital will occur via GFIP/SEFIP and via the CEF Social Connectivity system.
