A 25-year-old young man drowned in the sea of Arroio do Sal, on the northern coast. The case was registered this Friday (19). According to information from the military fire brigade, the victim was outside the designated bathing area.
The accident was recorded between watchtowers 28 and 29, about a kilometer away from where the lifeguards were positioned. The professionals intervened promptly, carrying out rescue operations, but unfortunately the young man suffered respiratory arrest and survived only under the care of doctors.
With this case, the northern coast has two deaths due to drowning during the summer season, both in Arroio do Sal.
