Prime Video’s new bet, called “The Disguise Game”, is a film that mixes action and romance to create surprising twists. That’s because a couple goes to a hotel to celebrate their wedding anniversary, but the night ends completely differently when the wife faces a killer and the husband discovers that She She’s a killer. Emma Brackett (Kaley Cuoco) and Dave Brackett (David Oyelowo) are a seemingly normal couple, living in a comfortable home with their two children. As their anniversary approaches, Emma convinces her husband to play a game called Role playing game: a game in which both “dress up”, as if they were playing characters, to meet for the “first time” and end the night in bed.
The game is no longer new to Dave, who loves it. This time they will have to go to a hotel to “get to know each other” in a bar. However, Emma finds herself in a situation that her husband would consider atypical: she is trapped with a man who tries to shoot her with a gun. Subsequently, Dave is framed by the police and discovers that his wife has a secret and dangerous life: she is a hitman with a huge reputation and wanted by police forces on several continents.
He finds fake passports and identities, and when he confronts her, she promises that she will stop living a double life because she is afraid it will harm her family. Dave, however, decides to get involved to help her finish her latest job, which ends up complicating everything and leaving him in danger.
The Dress Up Game is a Prime Video original production, which debuted on the platform on January 12th. The title mixes moments of tension, action, romance and a bit of comedy, which promises to please different audiences. The cast also includes names like Bill Nighy, Connie Nielsen, Rudi Dharmalingam, Lucia Aliu, Regan Bryan-Gudgeon, Simon Delaney, Sonita Henry, among others.
