In a 23-year career, Vladimir Brichta he has never played a villain. In Reborn, a new 9pm soap opera, which will debut on Monday the 22nd, the actor will change this aspect of his career. He will play Colonel Egídio and promises to surprise the audience.
In the new prime time soap opera Rede Globo, the colonel of Ilhéus, played by Brichta, will be an obstacle in the life of José Inocêncio, the protagonist, played by Marcos Palmeira.
In an interview with Gshow, the actor spoke about the decision to accept the role and said that he believes that this will be the telenovela of his life: “In fact I was planning my life and I wasn’t counting on a telenovela, exactly, in that period. But before being enchanted by Egídio, the possibility of participating in this telenovela had already enchanted me. This telenovela had such a great attraction, it is such a memorable telenovela for me, one of the soap operas that have most marked my childhood, in which I would have been there independently of Egídio, and I wanted to be.”
Vladimir also emphasized that the fact that the story took place in Bahia, the state where he was born, was of great importance. “For me, as an actor from Bahia, it is important to be in this work,” he said.
Throughout his career, Brichta has appeared in comedic characters. In a newspaper interview The globe, revealed that he was encouraged by Adriana Esteves, his wife, to take on the role. The actress also participated in the original version of Reborn, in 1993, and received much criticism for her portrayal of the character Mariana. But despite this, she encouraged her partner to participate in the remake. “It’s a new experience, it enchanted me,” she explained.
Describing Renascer’s villain, Vladmir explained: “Egídio is a boy who wants death.”
In the original version of the telenovela, Egídio was called Teodoro and was played by Herson Capri.
