Success is not necessarily a guarantee of quality. Proof of this is provided once again by Sixty Minutes, Oliver Kienle’s German action film starring Emilio Sacraia (Reingold) as an MMA fighter who is willing to do anything to retain custody of his daughter.
Released on Netflix on January 19, the film has been at the top of France’s most viewed films on the platform for almost a week. A success that should push the streaming service to produce more original action content like Tyler Rake and Lost Bullet (the third installment is currently in production).
Untrustworthy internet users
Despite this undeniable success, Sixty Minutes doesn’t seem to be convincing internet users, as evidenced by its viewership rating of 2.9 out of 5 stars on its AlloCiné profile. User Lebrun Michael does not hesitate to give it an average rating of 1/5, considering that “Almost everything is bad” In this film, to which he still devotes a few fight scenes “well shot”.
Hardly less harsh, internet user eldarkstone gives the film a score of 2 out of 5, which he particularly criticizes for its lack of originality: “Very few resources, scenes already heavily borrowed from others in the genre, virtually no surprises…not that big.”
Same story with user Dik ap Prale (also 2 of 5) highlighting the film “Who Hits the Soft” and plot “long awaited”. The latter still qualifies Emilio Sacraia’s interpretation “convincing” in action scenes.
The star of a new action movie?
It seems that quite a few netizens appreciated this German action movie. With a rating of 4.5 out of 5, Donatelow qualifies as a feature film “a wonderful surprise”Appreciated both for the simplicity of the script and the effectiveness of the action scenes. The greatest quality of Sixty Minutes, according to the latter, lies in the interpretation of Emilio Sacraia, which he hopes to find again soon in other films.
Also convinced by the movie (which he rated 4 out of 5), user James Ford made Sixty Minutes his action/martial arts favorite for the month of January 2024. If he regrets the absence of a more dangerous antagonist, the latter also praises the performance of Emilio Sacraia in a truly new crown Action hero Distinguished among Internet users!
The action movie 60 Minutes is now only available on Netflix.
