A B3 (B3SA3) informed, this Tuesday (23), that starting from March 11th it will maintain the trading of Ibovespa futures contracts and mini-contracts (IND and WIN respectively) until 6.25 pm, and of futures contracts and mini-contracts Ibovespa trades in commercial dollars (DOL and WDO) until 6:30 pm.
This time, currently in force, is already practiced every year between November and March, a period in which daylight saving time does not apply in the United States. Now the opening hours will continue to be extended also in the months from March to November, when derivatives related to Ibovespa trading ends at 5.55pm and dollar trading ends at 6pm.
“The aim is to provide investors with more time to trade products and complements B3’s efforts to facilitate access to the capital market,” said the Brazilian scholarship in a statement.

The options market, in turn, attracts attention for the increase in the number of trades, which went from R$845 million in December of the previous year to R$923 million last month, with an increase by 32.8%.
In December, the number of active accounts on B3 they reached 5.77 million, a value 1.9% lower than that recorded in the same period of 2022. On a monthly basis there was an increase of just 0.7%. The number of private investors, which has been growing in recent years, decreased by 1.1% to 4.95 million compared to the previous year. Compared to November, the increase was 0.8%.

To the market for derivatives and futures, the volume of contracts reached 5.34 thousand in December, an increase of 25.5% compared to the same month of 2022. In the monthly comparison, a decrease of 2.9% was recorded. During the period, average revenue per contract fell 18.5% to R$1.65 million. Compared to November the increase is 6.3%.
In the last month of 2023, the number of companies listed on the B3 (B3SA3) was 446, down 0.4% year-over-year and stable from November.
