It’s quite a feat that Netflix’s docu-series The Kidnapped Truth just achieved that by taking the top spot on the weekly chart in just a few days… beating out Harlan Coben’s thriller Double Trap.
Thanks to a highly effective storyline spread over three 45-minute episodes, subscribers were able to learn the story of a couple who were victims of a horrific break-in and kidnapping in 2015, and who were ultimately accused of orchestrating it all.
The Kidnapped Truth is a series that keeps you in suspense with many twists and revelations as explained in this article.
Each episode takes time to paint the psychology of the three protagonists of the case and illustrate with testimony what is often attributed to women’s words.
An aspect that caused a great response on social networks and especially on X, where Netflix subscribers highly recommended this documentary:
The truth about being kidnapped on netflix pisses me off because it’s a really great example: you hate women to the point of disbelief, even when they’ve literally been kidnapped.
It was a police officer who conducted the investigation (no big surprise)— Lilith (@alikspendragon) January 21, 2024
Kidnapped Truth (American Nightmare) on Netflix is a harrowing look at the treatment of sexual assault victims in the US and the tendency of some police officers not to do their job. Also the influence of certain films on public opinion. pic.twitter.com/njArdd5T5o

After the kidnapping, an ordinary American couple is accused by the police of staging it all.

“Abducted Truth” on @NetflixFR It’s worth going girl. In truth, Netflix has never fed us as well as it has in the early years. We fasten the nuggets with a chain

The Kidnapped Truth documentary on Netflix… I’m freaking out. So much suffering, negligence and gratuitous stupidity. Hell.

The conversation about the kidnapped truth should continue in the coming days, and Griselda is waiting for the arrival of the first place.
If you want to go further, know that the creators of this documentary series also produced The Tinder Scammer in 2022, which is worth checking out. Finally, mark your calendars for February 9th with Lover, Stalker, Killer: The Extreme of the Extreme on Netflix, a documentary that also promises to be fascinating….
