A Better Life Preview: What’s in store for Monday 29 January 2024 Episode 16 [SPOILERS]

Monday 29 January A more beautiful life, even more beautiful

A great outpouring of solidarity

Everyone at the Masalia residence knows about Steve’s financial problems. Once again, Yolande has a plan: she goes to the doctor’s office to talk to her granddaughter, Leah. She informs him of the student’s alarming condition and asks him to use his network. As deputy mayor, Leah feels obligated to pick up the phone.

Meanwhile, Nisma continues to mobilize troops. After a few calls, the young woman learns that Steve’s case will eventually be taken care of by the scholarship office. Indeed, thanks to Leah, the mayor did everything.

Nisma is relieved and cannot contain her joy, which surprises Mirta. Could a young woman fall under Steve’s spell?

Ariane reaches a milestone

After reading Zoé’s Child Social Assistance (ASE) file, Ariane discovers that there is nothing left from 2021. He finds his daughter at the skatepark and demands an explanation. Zoe replies that after her last imprisonment she decided to run away. Ariane is sorry, this is not the life she dreamed of for her daughter: “It hurts to know what you went through.”.

Zoë asks her why she never tried to find him, and Ariane replies that from the moment you give birth under X, you have to draw a line from your past life. After this discussion, mother and daughter decide to meet for lunch.

Back at the police station, Ariane asks Melanie if she can take RTT leave. The commissioner refuses because it takes all of his staff to track down Francesco. She asks him why it’s urgent, but Ariane refuses to say more.

As agreed, Ariane meets her daughter in Mistral, but, unfortunately, the service is over. So he suggests that they go to his apartment for lunch. Zoe accepts. How will this face-to-face meeting go?

The end of the run?

At the Mistral police station, it’s a race against time to find Francesco. While the pressure is on, Morgan discovers that two cars have been stolen near Francesco’s house, including one with a GPS.

Not far from Marseille, in an abandoned restaurant, Estelle is still under threat from her husband. The latter prepared a romantic dinner for him and boasts a better chef than Barbara. Estelle tells him that she no longer trusts him, and Francesco replies that they should toast their eternal love. Estelle refuses to drink, which angers Francesco.

At the same time, several policemen go to the place where the stolen car was. Everyone is convinced that they have found Francesco, but they are on the wrong track. There is no sign of Estelle and her husband, just a young couple who have come to enjoy themselves together.

While the police retreat, Francesco continues his rampage. After setting the dish on the floor, he pours a few drops of atropine into his and Estelle’s glasses. His ultimate goal: they die together.
