Current goalkeeper of Cerro Porteño, in Paraguay, Jean regrets the incident on his social networks and says he wants to forget the night he experienced
A riot in the stands involving fans of Cerro Porteño and 2 de Mayo last Monday in Paraguay resulted in an unusual attitude from a player. After noticing the commotion, Brazilian goalkeeper Jean, from Cerro, used a water hose to try to contain the brawl.
The match, played at the Defensores Del Chaco Stadium, in Asunción, was valid for the third round of the Torneo Apertura, the main Paraguayan national competition. Due to the problem, the match was interrupted 10 minutes into the second half when the score was 0-0.
Jean regretted what happened at the stadium
After spending time in Bahia, Atlético-GO and Sao Paulo, in Brazilian football, Jean lamented the episode on his social networks:
“A night to forget. Very sad for what happened today. May God bless the good people who supported us. May nothing serious happen to us,” wrote the goalkeeper.
The confusion in the stands mainly involved the throwing of seats and other objects. Therefore, the authorities decided to stop the match. Finally, the wait now rests on the date when the game’s sequel will take place.
