Support for the government of Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva (PT) has reached 49%, according to a PoderData poll carried out between January 27 and 29. The index has increased by three percentage points since the last survey carried out by the institute, in December 2023. Disapproval of the PT leadership, in turn, has swung negatively, from 44% to 42%. The margin of error is two percentage points. PoderData listened to 2,500 interviewees by telephone from 229 municipalities in the country.
Between December 2023 and January 2024, the assessment of the Confederation’s performance remained at a technical draw. Last month, 35% of respondents considered Lula’s job leading the country bad or terrible, and 32% considered it good or excellent. This month, the rate of good or excellent ratings was 36%, compared to 34% for bad or very bad ratings.
Lula does not exceed the electoral threshold
Despite the slight positive oscillation in the evaluation of the third mandate, PoderData investigations suggest that Lula is still unable to exceed, outside the margin of error, the ceiling of 51% of preferences that elected him to the presidency of the Republic in 2022.
