New to the cast, Ortega will play the daughter of Lydia, a character played by Winona Ryder in the original, while Dafoe, famous for being the Green Goblin in the film Spidermanhe will be a police officer in the afterlife: a ghost.
A critical success, the 1988 film grossed $80 million on a $15 million budget and also won the Oscar for Best Hair and Makeup.
Remembering Beetlejuice:
Ghosts have fun tells the story of a recently deceased couple (Geena Davis and Alec Baldwin) who haunt their old house. I am extremely uncomfortable with the arrival of a new family (Catherine O’Hara, Jeffrey Jones and Ryder).
Then they come into contact with Beetlejuice, a pesky social worker ghost of the dead who promises to help them haunt the new residents.
