Fan-favorite Jedi Mace Windu gets a new comic book series where he becomes a hunted pirate in a galaxy far, far away

Jedi Mace Windu only appeared in the critically panned second trilogy Skywalker Saga In Star Wars, but since he graced the show he instantly became a fan favorite. From The Phantom MenaceSince 1999, the character, played on the big screen by Samuel L. Jackson, has become a recurring figure in animations, games, books and comics.

Beware of spoilers for Star Wars: Mace Windu #1

In 2024, the reboot of the franchise created by George Lucas to the cinema with The Phantom Menace turns 25 and Lucasfilm has decided to turn this milestone into an event that will be celebrated across all Disney-owned media. And, of course, Mace Windu had to attend, then wonder Comics has already prepared a new limited series, along the same lines as the Star Wars which has already been a huge success at Casa das Ideeas.

The new title is set first Clone Wars and his appearance in The Phantom Menaceand promises to show Windu in a way not seen in any of his appearances in other stories of Star Wars.

The website of Star Wars and Marvel Comics published this Friday (2) a preview of Mace Windu #1which shows the Jedi Knight in a high-speed boat chase with a group of droids, arriving from a nearby prison.

In his previous appearances, Mace Windu has always been a Jedi Master and elected leader of the Jedi Council, alongside Grand Master Yoda, except on a few occasions. However, in this new comic series, he will still be young and evolving, like a Jedi Knight.

Star Wars: Mace Windu #1 The release is scheduled for February 7th on foreign newsstands.
