Rafael was the main protagonist of Sao Paulo’s title against Palmeiras, in the Brazilian Super Cup. The goalkeeper made important interventions during the match and saved penalties from Murilo and Piquerez.
After the match, Rafael thanked him for the good phase at the Tricolor and praised the team’s commitment during the start of the season and throughout the decision at Choque-Rei.
– Be grateful for everything I’m experiencing. Not even in my wildest dreams could I have imagined experiencing all this, of winning titles with San Paolo. I wanted to thank God and my family in the daily battles. This team deserves a lot, we fought a lot and I’m very happy – the San Paolo goalkeeper told Globo.
Before the match against Palmeiras, Rafael had faced three penalties for São Paulo, with two saves from 16 shots, achieving a success rate of 12%. In the dispute against LDU, in the quarterfinals of the Copa Sudamericana, the Sao Paulo goalkeeper failed to save any of the five shots and the Ecuadorians advanced on the stage.
