Basic education teachers receive a pay rise

The determination was published on January 31. However, states and municipalities have yet to make their own declaration

The minimum salary threshold for basic education teachers has been changed a determination published on January 31. The increase will not be granted automatically, as cities and states will have to issue own standards making the change official.

The new value is 3.62% more compared to the salary previously paid. From now on the word is 4,580.57 for basic education professionals with 40 hours of work per week.

The Ministry of Education (MEC) has the task, every year, of calculating the adjustment index and publishing the ordinance with the new values.
