Meta Quest is updated with support for spatial video with MV-HVEC codec, improved gesture control, external controls and more
Users of Objective Quest has received a new update that expands the usability of the mixed reality headset following the debut of Apple Vision Pro now offers support for space videos recorded with Apple smartphones.

With the v62 update now available for download, all Meta Quest models can play space videos captured with iPhone 15 Pro AND iPhone15 ProMax.

To view the content simply use the Meta Quest application and upload the videos to the cloud. After syncing, simply go to the File menu and select your spatial video content.
Those who have not yet tested space videos can take advantage of the demonstrations offered by Meta in the Files menu on all Quest models.
External controls, streaming and gestures
The February update also now brings support for external controls for consoles like Xbox, PlayStation, and more, including improvements to the PS5’s DualSense and PS4’s DualShock models.
To the streamersMeta adds support for live streaming on Facebook for all Meta Quest users and now offers chat Youtube during broadcasts, to interact with the audience even in virtual reality.

Finally, the company announces new simplified gestures to access settings such as Quick actions AND Recentralize.
In both cases, users must turn their palm towards their face and perform the pinching gesture by bringing their thumb and forefinger together.
To access Quick Actions, all it takes is a quick one-second tap. To recalibrate the center of the virtual space, users just need to hold their fingers for a few more seconds.
Meta Quest line products are not officially available in Brazil.
