There are few details about what The Mandalorian and Grogu will look like and how they will fit into the franchise overall, but a few facts have been confirmed. So here’s what we already know about the next Star Wars movie, plus some speculation.

The film continues from the third season of The Mandalorian

It is confirmed that The Mandalorian and Grogu will be the continuation of the script of the third season of The Mandalorian. In a quick recap, Mandalore has been retaken, but Din Djarin has chosen to settle on the planet Nevarro while he pursues a new career working exclusively for the New Republic. That said, it looks like The Mandalorian and Grogu will bridge the gap between the show and future conflict.

Director, screenwriter and crew

As mentioned, The Mandalorian and Grogu will be directed and likely written, like most of the series, by Jon Favreau. He will produce the film alongside Lucasfilm president Kathleen Kennedy and New Republic creative director and story partner Dave Filoni.

While no other details have been released, we can assume that a good portion of the team behind The Mandalorian will be part of the film’s pre-production, production, and post-production team.
