Forward Pablo Vegetti will miss Vasco in the next matches as he heals a fractured rib. The injury, suffered two weeks ago in the 1-0 victory over Deportivo Maldonado in the pre-season friendly in Uruguay, forced him to make a sacrifice. This situation was revealed by technical assistant Emiliano Díaz, after the classic match with Flamengo.
During this period Vegetti did not score a goal and negotiated a contract adjustment with Vasco. The striker broke his silence and spoke about the injury on social media, revealing that he played with pain that limited him on the pitch.
– In the second friendly match of the pre-season I suffered a blow to my right rib, as a result of which I have an injury (crack) that does not allow me to carry out normally not only my profession, but also my daily life. From that moment until now the only thing I thought about was arriving at yesterday’s match against Flamengo with playing pace and with as little pain as possible, and thus being able to help the team. Thanks to the medical team of the entire club, to the technical committee, to my teammates, to my family and to the infiltrations that we managed to carry out – wrote Vegetti, which he completed.
– During all this time I have had to hear many “theories” about myself that I prefer not to mention, thanks to God and my experience in this profession I have learned not to give them importance and to carry on as I have always done. Vegetti is absent at Vasco on Thursday (8), against Audax, a match to be played in Manaus. The next match in Rio is the classic against Fluminense, on Ash Wednesday (14th). For the role Cruz-Maltino makes use of the young Rayan and Paixão, coming from the youth team.
