Author George RR Martin has confirmed that there is indeed a Jon Snow spin-off series in development and revealed the title of the production.
Martin commented on the new series on his blog, titled “Note to blog“, confirming information released by The Hollywood Reporter that Kit Harington will return to the” Game of Thrones “universe in her iconic role as Jon Snow, in a solo spin-off series.
“Yes, there is a Jon Snow series in development,” confirmed Martin, following the reveal of the series title. “Our working title for the series is SNOW.”
Martin also commented that there are a total of four live-action series in development at HBO in the “Game of Thrones” universe: “Then Thousand Ships,” a series about the historical character Nymeria directed by Amanda Segel; “Sea Snake” or “Nine Voyages” with Bruno Heller, the Dunk and Egg character series, “The Hedge Knight” or “The Knight of the Seven Kingdoms,” with a screenplay by Steve Conrad; and now “Snow”.
According to the author, “Snow” has been in development for nearly the same time period as the other three series, but information hadn’t leaked to the press until now.
Speaking of the new series, Martin also spoke of the comments of actress Emilia Clarke, who played Daenerys Targaryen in “Game of Thrones”. Speaking of the Kit Harington spin-off with the BBC, Clarke said: “She told me about it. And I know there is. It’s happening. ”She also said that her participation in the Game of Thrones universe has ended and there are no plans to return.
“Kit was involved in the creation, as far as I know, so he was involved from the very beginning. So what you see, I hope that if that happens, it will have Kit Harington’s stamp, “continued the actress, revealing this information, now confirmed by Martin.
“It appears Emilia Clarke has already mentioned that ‘Snow’ was Kit’s idea in a recent interview. so this is it already [divulgado]. Yes, it was Kit Harington who brought us the idea. I can’t name the writers / showrunners because this hasn’t been released yet for the announcement… But Kit brought them in too, his own team, and they’re terrific, ”Martin said.
Another point commented on by Martin was his own involvement. “Various rumors are circulating about my involvement, or lack of him,” said the author, denying that this is the case. “I’m involved, as I am with ‘The Hedge Knight’ and ‘The Sea Snake’ and ‘Ten Thousand Ships’ and all the animated series. Kit’s team visited me here in Santa Fe and worked with me and my team of brilliant and talented writers / consultants to make the series. “
In addition, he informed that all series subsequent to “Game of Thrones”, except “House of the Dragon”, of course, are in the script phase and none have so far been approved for production by HBO, thereafter without guarantees of this will actually come true.
