Today, during Disney’s first quarter 2024 earnings call, CEO Bob Iger announced release windows for some of his most anticipated films, including sequels to Frozen, History of the toy, Zootropolis AND Moanabesides the movie The Mandalorian and Grogu.
After Iger revealed it Zootopia 2 would arrive in 2025, Disney sent an announcement with the exact release date: November 26, 2025. The same announcement also confirmed that the new film in the series Alien which will debut on August 16, 2024, will be called Alien: Romulus.
Official release dates haven’t been revealed yet, but Iger said on the call that the sequels are two big animated hits – Story of toys 5 AND Frozen 3 — will arrive in 2026. And while it’s not a huge surprise, Iger confirmed it The Mandalorian and Groguthe recently announced new film directed by Jon Favreau will be the first in the new series of planned Star Wars films, also arriving in 2026.
Iger acknowledged on the call that 2024 might feel a little slower in comparison, largely due to last year’s double writer-actor strike that delayed many of his big releases. However, it won’t be completely empty for Disney; in fact, the company announced a surprise sequel today Moanawhich will premiere on November 27, 2024. A teaser has been released:
Plus, Disney has too Planet of the Apes: Reign (23 May), Inside out 2 (June 14), Deadpool 3 (July 26) e Mufasa: The Lion King (December 20) coming this year.
