After a successful run in theaters, Taylor Swift’s concert film arrives on Disney’s streaming service in March
Currently available for rent on different digital platforms, Taylor Swift: The Eras Tourcinematographic record of the current world tour of Taylor Swiftwhich came to Brazil in November last year, will be released on Disney+, at no additional cost for subscribers of the streaming service.
The announcement was made by the platform last Wednesday, February 7th, on social media. The concert film, which covers the artist’s seventeen-year career and all ten eras released so far, will be available from March 15th and, unlike the cinema and rental versions, it will feature five new songs, including “cardigan”, from the album folklore (2020). Last year, the Guinness World Records, the Book of Records, recognized the concert film as having the highest box office collection for a production of its kind in the history of cinema. From its debut in October until last November 23rd, The Eras Tour Concert Film had already raised more than US$246 million (around R$1.2 billion at current prices) worldwide.
Before that, the production, which presents the show in honor of the 17-year career of Taylor Swift, had already broken the record for the biggest opening for a concert film by grossing US$109 million (R$543 million) in its first five days in theaters. The previous record belonged to Justin Bieber: Never Say Neverlong Justin bieberwhich made $99 million in its opening weekend in 2011. Watch the trailer for Taylor Swift: The Eras Tour:
