Vasco did not play well against bottom Audax, but managed to win 1-0, thanks to David’s goal in the first half of the match played on Thursday evening (8), in Manaus. The duel, at the Arena da Amazônia, was valid for the seventh round of the Campeonato Carioca.
With this result, Cruz-Maltino overtakes Botafogo in the standings and takes fourth place, entering the ranking group. The São João de Meriti team remains at the bottom of the table, still without scoring.
First time
Cruz-Maltino dominated the first stage from start to finish. With a mixed team, he kept Audax at home and accumulated chances. But what immediately caught the attention of the match was a frightening episode. Bruno Lima, Audax midfielder, suffered a fracture in his left leg and had to be replaced. Ramón Díaz’s men maintained the pressure, but their finishes were capricious. With the full-backs skewered and Galdames’ great debut, the team finally reaches the goal.
