Intimacy coordinator defends intimate scenes between Jenna Ortega and actor 31 years older

Jenna Ortega “I was sure of what I wanted to do” when he recorded intimate scenes alongside Martin Freeman in Miller’s Girlaccording to the film’s intimacy coordinator. Kristina Arjona spoke out after social media was flooded with criticism about the sexual scenes in which the actress stars with Freeman31 years older than her.

Arjona said that no barriers were crossed: “There were many, many people involved in this process, working with Ortega to make sure it was consistent with what she was comfortable with, and she was very determined and very clear about what she wanted to do.”

“Part of my job is also to support her decisions. I adapt to my actors’ comfort level, especially in a production like this where there is a huge age difference between the actors.”

“I’m hyper-aware of my talent and making sure that we’re consistently checking in to see if, at any point, we’re overstepping their boundaries. And, again, making sure that — especially with those who are significantly younger — they’re giving consistent consent.”

Arjona also clarified that all scenes with a certain level of nudity were discussed with the actors, in addition to issues such as “appropriate distance” in sex scenes. All this information, as the coordinator said, is recorded in writing 48 hours before filming, but can be changed at any time, if the actor wishes.

The coordinator further explained that tests are carried out so that the explicit content is evaluated: “For this film in particular, because of the sensitivity of the content, they have variations on how they want to record these scenes so that the public can watch them in test screenings. and see what is exaggerated.”
